The acquisition was announced on January 9, 2019, and was finalized on February 15.
As part of the transaction, Cory 1st Choice Home Delivery will be incorporated into J.B. Hunt Final Mile Services, which is a division of the Dedicated Contract Services unit. Final Mile has, with this transaction, grown to approximately 100 locations with more than 3.1 million square feet of warehouse capacity, according to a press release.
“Cory’s customer-first mentality and focus on the consumer experience have made it one of the best in the furniture business,” said Nick Hobbs, executive vice president and president of Dedicated Contract Services at J.B. Hunt, in a press release. “Those values very much align with ours, and we are proud to welcome Cory to the J.B. Hunt family.”
J.B. Hunt purchased the company for $100 million using “existing revolving credit facility,” according to the initial press announcement.
Cory specializes in home delivery of large products within the continental U.S. and U.S. territories. The company has 14 warehouses, and Cory annually makes roughly 2 million deliveries.
