Hutchinson Appoints Switzer to Court of Appeals

Gov. Asa Hutchinson has appointed Judge Meredith Switzer to the 4th District Court of Appeals.

Switzer will be replacing the late Judge David M. “Mac” Glover.

“I am pleased to appoint Judge Switzer, a native of Hot Springs, to the Court of Appeals for District 4. Her experience in the courtroom as both a practicing attorney and a former District Judge in Garland County have provided her with the knowledge and wisdom necessary to serve the people of Arkansas on the Court of Appeals,” Hutchinson said in a statement.

Switzer practiced law at the Rose Law Firm and later joined the Arkansas Attorney General’s office, where she rose to become Deputy Attorney General of the State Agencies Department.

Hutchinson appointed her to become the District Judge of Garland County in 2016.

Switzer obtained a bachelor’s degree at the University of Arkansas and a law degree from UALR Law School.

Her term on the Court of Appeals will expire December 31, 2020.
