Chelsea Clinton to Visit Little Rock for Book Event

Chelsea Clinton

Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton will visit Little Rock for a Clinton School Speaker Series event focused on her new book She Persisted Around the World.

At 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Wally Allen Ballroom of the Statehouse Convention Center, located at 101 E. Markham St. in Little Rock, Clinton and moderator Jill Santopolo will discuss the thirteen women featured in She Persisted Around the World, which was released in March, and how they overcame adversity.

Santopolo edited the children’s book, a companion book to Clinton’s New York Times bestseller, She Persisted. Alexandra Boiger illustrated both books. The event will include a book reading by the Arkansas Repertory Theatre and a book signing. Books will be available at the discussion.

Marie Curie, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Viola Desmond, Sissi Lima do Amor, Leymah Gbowee, Caroline Herschel, Wangari Maathai, Aisha Rateb, J.K. Rowling, Kate Sheppard, Yuan Yuan Tan, Mary Verghese and Malala Yousafzai are featured in the book.

Clinton has written several other books, including It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going! and Start Now! You Can Make a Difference. She co-authored Governing Global Health: Who Runs the World and Why? with Devi Sridhar. She serves as vice chair of the Clinton Foundation.

Clinton has spoken at Clinton School events in the past.

This event, like all events in the Clinton School Speaker Series, is free. Email to reserve your spot, or call 501-683-5239.

Clinton’s father, former President Bill Clinton, will be in Little Rock for a Clinton School lecture in June.
