The Baptist Health system has hired a new cardiac surgeon.
Dr. Jay Bhama has joined the Baptist Health Cardiothoracic Surgery Clinic and Baptist Health Heart Failure and Transplant Institute.
Prior to joining Baptist Health, Bhama had practiced medicine for 15 years and had multiple fellowships, including a cardiac surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic and a thoracic transplant and left ventricular assist device fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
“My goal is to provide the best care possible for our cardiac surgery patients by combining innovative and cutting-edge technology with excellence in patient care,” he said.
Bhama specializes in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, mitral valve repair and heart failure surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, American College of Cardiology, and the American College of Chest Physicans.
