Arkansas restaurant chain Tacos 4 Life announced Monday that it would add six locations in 2018.
The restaurant plans to expand with new taco joints in Springdale; Rogers; Fort Smith; North Little Rock; Charlotte, North Carolina and Jackson, Tennessee.
The chain currently has two Conway locations, as well as locations in Fayetteville, Little Rock, Benton, Searcy, Jonesboro and Springdale. There is one out-of-state location in Frisco, Texas; the expansion will up the number of out-of-state restaurants to three.
Founders Ashton and Austin Samuelson of Conway started Tacos 4 Life as a way to combat hunger.
“We have provided over 3.5 million meals,” Austin Samuelson told Arkansas Money & Politics in October 2017. “Every store we open adds a minimum of 1,000 more meals a day being raised.”
Tacos 4 Life subscribes to a “meal 4 meal” philosophy; for each meal sold, one is donated. Tacos 4 Life donates the money from the meal to Feed My Starving Children with the goal of ending world hunger. Each taco, quesadilla, salad and rice bowl on the menu translates to $0.22 in donations to Feed My Starving Children, according to the Tacos 4 Life website. Feed My Starving Children uses the money to distribute rice packs to children in need.
