Unity Health will have a new leader in August, following the retirement of longtime CEO Ray Montgomery. Steven Webb, the vice president and administrator at Baptist Health Center in North Little Rock, will take his place.
Webb, who has served the Baptist Health system since 2009, will take over as CEO of Unity Health in Searcy in early August.
Montgomery announced earlier this year his plans to retire on Aug. 8, after a 30-year career with the hospital formerly known as White County Medical Center, serving as COO beginning in 1988 and CEO in 1992.
During his tenure, Montgomery led the hospital through numerous facility improvements, the acquisition of two hospitals and the building of the Cancer Center of Excellence. He facilitated a rebranding, which included a name change.
In 2015, Unity Health added the second-largest residency program in Arkansas for family medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine and psychiatry. In early 2016, Unity Health collaborated with the Mayo Clinic Care Network, bringing 4,500 world-class physicians and scientists for patient care locally.
Webb began his career in hospital administration in Linden, Texas. He joined Baptist Health in 2009, as an administrator in Stuttgart. In 2012, he joined the North Little Rock facility as a vice president for patient services.
