The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) announced a new member has joined the staff at the UAMS Gastroenterology Clinic.
Stephan Dehmel, M.D., has joined UAMS as a gastroenterologist and will serve as part of a team of specialists at the UAMS Gastroenterology Clinic. In addition, Dehmel will be an assistant professor at the Department of Internal Medicine in the UAMS College of Medicine.
Prior to joining UAMS, Dehmel served as a doctor and educator in the United Kingdom and Germany for over 20 years. Dehmel specializes in luminal GI tract conditions and in endoscopy.
As part of the UAMS Gastroenterology Clinic team, Dehmel will help treat a full spectrum of GI conditions, including GERD and swallowing disorders, stomach ulcers, gastritis, inflammatory bowel diseases, GI bleeds, hepatitis, cirrhosis and more. The team is also part of the multi-disciplinary UAMS liver transplant program, the only liver transplant program in the state.
