Time is running out to nominate your favorite restaurants, industry insiders and food-focused events for the Department of Arkansas Heritage Arkansas Food Hall of Fame.
The final date to nominate for this year’s hall of fame class is Oct. 31, 2017, according to a news release from the Department of Arkansas Heritage. Submit your favorites at arkfoodhof.com. There are five categories:
- Arkansas Food Hall of Fame
- Proprietor of the Year
- Food-Themed Event
- People’s Choice
- Gone But Not Forgotten
The hall of fame committee is made up of several well-known Arkansans, including Paul S. Austin, Evette Brady, Chip Culpepper, Cindy Grisham, Stacy Hurst, Montine McNulty, Tim Morton, Rex Nelson, Tim Nutt, AY Magazine‘s own Kat Robinson, Christina Shutt, Lisa Speer and Swannee Bennett.
Department of Arkansas Heritage Director Stacy Hurst said in the release that food “brings communities together.”
“The Arkansas Food Hall of Fame honors Arkansas food culture as a significant and specific aspect of our state’s heritage,” Hurst says. “Nominations are closing soon, so now is the time to honor your favorite restaurant, chef or proprietor in the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame.”
The inductees will be announced March 6, 2018, according to the release.
