Indulgences by Body Bronze, a day spa on Cantrell Road in west Little Rock, closed unexpectedly on Monday, according to multiple reports. The business’s website is no longer in operation and its Facebook page has been removed.
Indulgences customers received an email from the business Monday morning, informing them of the closing.
“It is with a very heavy heart that we write to inform you, Indulgences by Body Bronze is closed for business,” the email read. “We deeply regret any inconvenience this has caused you.”
Customers expressed frustration on social media at having gift cards that are now worthless as a result of the closing. Many of the gift cards were purchased during the recent holiday season and given as Christmas presents, just weeks before the business closed.
“Did I just get scammed out of $100,” one customer asked on Twitter on Monday.
In response to the sudden closing, some area spas and clinics have offered discounts to Indulgences customers with unredeemed gift cards.
According to the Better Business Bureau, Indulgences by Body Bronze is owned by Molly Verbrugge, of Little Rock. Her social media pages have also been disabled. The business was opened in 2006, according to BBB records.
Phone calls to the business were not answered or returned.
