Dana Abraham, M.D., has been recently appointed to the Advisory Board of the Arkansas Affiliate of Susan G. Komen.
A breast surgical oncologist with the Arkansas Surgical Hospital (ASH), Abraham will serve a three-year term as a medical advisor to the Susan G. Komen Board. As a medical advisor, Abraham will be tasked with providing “scientific direction and expertise” to the board members, according to an ASH press release.
“Part of my role will be to assist with the technical aspects of communicating developments in breast cancer research, treatments and patient needs,” Abraham says.
The Susan G. Komen board is responsible for assisting the larger organization in its mission to increase breast cancer education and awareness throughout Arkansas. In addition to Abraham, there are two founding advisors, Pat McClelland and Pat Torvested.
The Arkansas Affiliate of Susan G. Komen serves 63 counties in Arkansas, providing “funding for breast health services, breast cancer education and outreach,” according to the organization’s website.
