“I am very honored to join the Armor bank team.  I have a great deal of respect for the entire Waldrip family and I am excited to lead such a talented group of individuals as we work toward growing our Central Arkansas presence and beyond.  Armor Bank has a great focus on our customer base and our values align in our dedication to growth and client service,” said May. “It is a great opportunity to build upon a long history of 99 years of success in the Forrest City area.”

May comes to Armor with 19 years of experience in the banking industry. Most recently, May worked as a Commercial Banking Executive for Regions Bank, headquartered out of Birmingham, Alabama.  There, he spent his last nine years in business and commercial banking and was responsible for 18 commercial lenders across multiple markets in Arkansas.

“We are fortunate to have Chad join our team,” said Board Chairman Mark Waldrip.  “He brings a passion for customer service, along with a dedication to excellence.  Chad shares the value we place on our employees and clients. He is the right fit for our culture and will be an asset as we grow.”

Chad is a board member for the Downtown Little Rock Partnership and is the current chairman of the Centers for Youth and Families board.  He has also held various roles with United Way, Arkansas Bankers Association Emerging Leaders, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement and Arkansas Food Bank.

May, a Pine Bluff native, graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing management. He and his wife Joye live in Little Rock with their two children, Jackson and Mary Alice.

Since January 1, 1919 Armor Bank has been serving the community of Forrest City and the surrounding area. The members of the first board of directors were forward-looking individuals with a desire to help people in the Forrest City area to become home owners. They felt that people who owned their homes would be better citizens and taxpayers, with a real stake in the growth of the community. Through the years the Bank has been steadfast in its commitment to the community and its customers.

Today the Bank continues to look forward, with the announcement of new ownership when Big Creek Bancshares, Inc. acquired Forrest City Financial Corporation, the parent company of Forrest City Bank, in December of 2016. In March of 2017 the Forrest City Bank officially changed its name to Armor Bank. With those changes, the Bank pledges to continue to be Forrest City’s bank and to be the same civic and community minded bank that Forrest City Bank has been for over 99 years.  To learn more visit
