Among Republican senators in D.C., Arkansas cheese dip beats Texas queso

From Senator Tom Cotton’s office

Washington, D.C. (December 7, 2016) ~ Senators Tom Cotton and John Boozman released the following statement after Arkansas cheese dip won out over Texas queso during a blind “Taste Test” among Republican senators Wednesday afternoon:

“We’re happy our colleagues validated what we’ve known all along: Arkansas cheese dip is the best in the United States, and the world. Thank you to Heights Taco & Tamale for coming to Washington and providing the United States Senate with a little taste of Arkansas. Senator Cruz and Senator Cornyn: you’re welcome to cross the state line for some real cheese dip anytime.”

Background: Senator Tom Cotton, Senator John Boozman, Senator John Cornyn, and Senator Ted Cruz hosted a blind “Taste Test” featuring Arkansas Cheese Dip versus Texas Queso during the weekly Steering Committee lunch. Their fellow senators sampled each and voted.

Earlier this year, the Wall Street Journal reported Arkansas’s claim to cheese dip, which sparked a twitter debate between Senator Cotton and Senator Cornyn. The result was a challenge to settle this dispute by way of a blind “Taste Test” among colleagues.

Arkansas cheese dip was provided by the current World Cheese Dip Professional Division Champion, Heights Taco & Tamale Co., of Little Rock.
