Amazon is expected to open its first Arkansas distribution center in North Little Rock.
According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Amazon’s “new concept” distribution center will create approximately 100 jobs. NLR Mayor Joe Smith told the Democrat-Gazette that the distribution center would start creating jobs this fall.
Currently, the property Amazon is eyeing for its distribution center is owned by Planning Commission Chairman Norman Clifton. The 4-acre lot in Little Rock was approved for rezoning to industrial classification on Monday by the North Little Rock City Council.
Clifton said Amazon has proposed a 1-and-a-half year lease for the property with an option for two more years.
